This ink-and-wash landscape—signed by Maximilien Luce—showcases the French countryside. Likely inspired by his travels outside of Paris, the scene features a winding path, windmills in the distance, and a pair of figures along a rustic fence line. The fluid ink lines and gentle sepia wash demonstrate his ability to create both structure and softness—hallmarks of his 20th-century drawings.

Framed in wood with a silk lining.

This piece was sourced from the esteemed New Orleans estate of textile expert Bryce Reveley.
