A beautifully moody antique French still life oil painting, signed M. Dreyfus and dated 1902. The composition features a warm copper pot beside onions and garlic, painted with rich, dark tones and soft reflective highlights that give the piece a wonderful old-world kitchen presence.
The painting is set in an aged gilt frame with bead and line detailing, adding just the right amount of quiet elegance. The subject feels deeply French and beautifully practical — the kind of piece that would be especially charming in a kitchen, dining room, pantry, or layered shelf vignette.
The copper pot is rendered with lovely depth and warmth, while the onions bring softness and movement to the scene. A wonderful early 20th century piece with a collected, timeworn feel.
Condition:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Frame shows rubbing, finish loss, patina, and small imperfections throughout. Back shows age, wear, and older hanging hardware. Painting presents beautifully with visible surface texture and minor signs of age. Signed lower right M. Dreyfus, 1902. Sold as found.
