A beautiful French-on-French pairing, this antique gilt frame is stamped France and holds a delicate botanical pencil sketch from an artist’s sketchbook. The drawing has that loose, intimate quality only found in working studies — light pencil lines, soft floral forms, and the feeling of an artist capturing a bloom in the moment rather than creating something overly finished.
The frame itself has wonderful presence, with a warm gilt finish, petite beaded detailing, and an ornate crest along the top. The back includes both a standing easel support and hanging hardware, allowing it to be styled on a tabletop, shelf, or wall. All Maetiques items are considered final sale and sold in, "as-is" condition. Our items are extremely old and have had a prior life, which leads to imperfections. We will always point out major flaws, but due to the nature of our items, returns or exchanges are not accepted.
