Antique Sepia Landscape Drawing with Galerie Léo Schidlof Label

A beautifully timeworn antique sepia landscape drawing featuring a quiet European architectural scene with cottages, trees, and a soft countryside road. The work has delicate linework and warm brown tonal washes, giving it a gentle, old-world presence that feels quietly collected and storied.

The reverse retains an old Galerie Léo Schidlof label from Paris, noting the gallery’s specialties in miniatures, paintings, drawings, and engravings. The label lists the address as 61 Avenue Victor-Emmanuel III, Paris VIIIe, adding a wonderful Paris gallery provenance detail. Beneath the label is a handwritten attribution reading “École Hollandaise XVIIe s.”, which translates to “Dutch School, 17th century.”

While we cannot independently authenticate the age or attribution, the old gallery label and handwritten note make this a particularly interesting piece for collectors of antique European works on paper. It should be described as bearing an old attribution to Dutch School, 17th century, rather than stated as a confirmed 17th-century drawing.
