A beautiful vintage French ashtray crafted from heavy cut crystal and finished with a substantial gilt brass mount.
The crystal body features faceted geometric cutting around the exterior with a radiating starburst pattern visible through the base. A wide gilt brass rim sits above the crystal and incorporates two raised cigarette or cigar rests, giving the piece a clean, architectural profile.
The contrast between the clear crystal and warm gold-toned metal makes this especially decorative, even beyond its original function. It would be just as lovely used today as a small catchall for jewelry, matches, coins, or other collected objects on a desk, bar, bedside table, or coffee table.
Likely dating to the mid-20th century, the piece shows light surface wear and patina to the gilt metal consistent with age and use. The crystal appears beautifully preserved, with the expected minor signs of age visible upon close inspection.
A classic little French object with enough weight and detail to stand beautifully on its own.
Dimensions: 4.75 x 4.5 x 2
