A richly painted French garden landscape depicting what appears to be the Grand Trianon within the estate of Versailles. The long, pale pavilion with its repeated arched openings closely resembles the Grand Trianon’s distinctive marble gallery, seen here beyond vivid bands of red flowers and deep garden greenery.
Loose, expressive brushwork gives the scene wonderful movement, particularly through the brilliant flowerbeds and shadowed trees. The darker foreground contrasts beautifully with the softly illuminated architecture, capturing the feeling of looking across the formal gardens toward the palace.
Presented in a narrow antique giltwood frame with warm, timeworn patina. The painting and frame show scattered surface wear, craquelure, small losses, scratches, and imperfections consistent with age, all visible in the photographs. Unsigned.
