A refined French Louis XVI–style demi-lune table, dating to the late 19th century, showcasing the period’s hallmark balance of elegance, restraint, and architectural precision. Designed to sit flush against a wall when closed, this form was favored in Parisian interiors where versatility and visual lightness were essential.
Crafted in warm-toned hardwood with exquisite veneer work, the top displays a beautifully composed fan-pattern marquetry framed by delicate inlaid banding. The demi-lune silhouette is both sculptural and practical, offering a strong visual statement without overwhelming a space.
When opened, the table reveals its original green felt gaming surface—historically used for cards, writing, or light games—highlighting the multifunctional nature of French furniture from this period. A discreet central drawer provides storage for cards or small personal items, reinforcing its original use as a salon or games table.
