French Louis XVI–Style Vintage Cherry Veneer Commode

This is a stunning vintage Louis XVI–style commode, crafted with cherry veneer over a solid hardwood frame and crowned with its original shaped Carrara marble top. With its warm tonal grain, refined profile, and intricately detailed trim, this piece brings the sophistication of French neoclassical design into a form that feels both timeless and approachable.

The commode features classic fluted corner columns, tapered Louis XVI legs, and a deeply sculpted chain-link gilt trim surrounding both drawers — a hallmark of French styling that adds depth and elegance to the façade. The silhouette is beautifully balanced: substantial enough to anchor a room, but softened by the rounded molding and gentle curve of the front profile.

The original white-and-grey Carrara marble top sits gracefully along the frame, with a shaped front and stepped edge. Its veining reads soft and airy, giving the piece a quiet, luxurious presence. The marble is removable, and beneath it is the original wood frame with mounting channel.
