A beautiful French lidded stoneware terrine marked Vendeuvre T.V. Déposé, dating from the 19th century to mid 20th century. The piece has a warm ochre-yellow glaze, rounded form, fitted lid, and small knob handle, giving it a classic French farmhouse kitchen presence.
The impressed “Déposé” mark translates to “registered” or “registered design,” indicating a protected maker or design mark. The Vendeuvre stamp adds a wonderful sense of provenance and places the piece within the tradition of French utilitarian pottery.
With its softly aged glaze, warm mustard tone, and timeworn surface, this piece would be lovely styled in a kitchen, pantry, open shelving, or dining room. It has that practical countryside charm that makes old French kitchen pieces so easy to love.
Condition:
Good antique/vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Surface shows staining, glaze variation, dark marks, scratches, discoloration, and general signs of age/use. Lid and body show expected patina throughout. Marked on underside Vendeuvre T.V. Déposé. Sold as found; recommended for decorative use.
