An elegant antique French tabletop frame with a slender gilt border and a pierced ribbon-and-bow crest, a timeless decorative motif associated with the Louis XVI style. Its restrained ornamentation allows the beautifully aged finish and romantic silhouette to take center stage.
The frame is presented with an authentic handwritten French document dating to the 1700s. The antique manuscript was personally selected, carefully cut, and added by Maetiques to complement the frame; it is not original to the piece.
The reverse retains its simple metal easel stand and shows significant age, wear, oxidation, and surface variation. A lovely piece for a writing desk, mantel, console, or layered among collected artwork, bringing together two separately sourced antique elements in one quietly storied display.

All Maetiques items are considered final sale and sold in, "as-is" condition. Our items are extremely old and have had a prior life, which leads to imperfections. We will always point out major flaws, but due to the nature of our items, returns or exchanges are not accepted.
If you have any questions about the condition or details of a piece, please email us in advance of your purchase as we are always happy to provide more information including detailed pictures and videos. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ask questions prior to purchasing an item. All sales are final.
