Sourced in Paris from a collection of 19th-century French architectural salvage, this ornament began its life as an ornate keyhole escutcheon on a Louis-style commode or armoire. Cast in solid brass, the piece features an elaborate crest of scrolling acanthus, floral motifs, and an open keyhole center—details that speak to the exquisite craftsmanship of the era.
Its surface retains a rich aged patina, softened by time and touched with the natural wear that only true antique hardware carries. Reimagined as an heirloom ornament and finished with an olive-green velvet ribbon, it brings a warm, Old-World grandeur to any holiday tree or decorative vignette.

All Maetiques items are considered final sale and sold in, "as-is" condition. Our items are extremely old and have had a prior life, which leads to imperfections. We will always point out major flaws, but due to the nature of our items, returns or exchanges are not accepted.
