Louis XVI Marble-Top Commode by Bedel & Cie

Bearing its original maker’s label, this piece reflects the restrained elegance and solid craftsmanship associated with French furniture of this era.

Executed in warm-toned hardwood with beautiful grain movement, the commode features classic Louis XVI elements throughout: clean rectilinear lines, fluted corner details, tapered legs with brass sabots, and subtle brass trim framing each drawer. The proportions are balanced and architectural, allowing the piece to feel substantial without appearing heavy.

The layout includes three smaller drawers across the top and two larger drawers below, offering generous storage while maintaining visual symmetry.
