A wonderfully unusual vintage French Dom Pérignon menu or card holder produced for Moët & Chandon of Épernay. Cast in a warm, weighty brass-toned metal, the front takes the recognizable shield form associated with Dom Pérignon labeling and is decorated in raised relief with grapevines, lettering, and the inscription:
“Moët et Chandon à Épernay – Fondée en 1743 – Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Vintage.”
The shield is mounted to a substantial freestanding base, while the open channel behind it was designed to hold a menu, wine list, place card, photograph, or small piece of paper ephemera upright.
A fantastic piece of vintage French champagne advertising that works equally well as a functional tabletop holder or simply as an objet. Perfect for a bar, dining room, wine cellar, kitchen, or collected alongside other French café and wine-related pieces. Or - to hold photos or letters in.
The surface retains its aged bronze/brass patina with darker coloration within the recessed lettering and decoration, along with minor wear consistent with age.
Dimensions: 4.5 x 2.25 x 4
