An elegant and well-proportioned pair of French Louis XVI–style bedside tables, dating to the late 19th–early 20th century. These pieces reflect the restrained sophistication of the Louis XVI period, a style known for its return to classical balance, clean lines, and architectural symmetry following the ornate curves of the Rococo era.
Crafted in warm-toned mahogany, each table stands on slender, tapered legs accented with subtle brass sabots—an unmistakable hallmark of quality French construction. The casework is framed by crisp vertical fluting at the corners, another defining Louis XVI detail that echoes classical columns.
Each table features three graduated drawers, offering functional storage while maintaining a light, elevated silhouette. The drawers are outlined with fine brass trim and finished with original-style brass pulls, adding just enough ornamentation without overwhelming the design.
The tops are finished in white marble and crowned with pierced brass galleries, a practical and decorative element traditionally used to protect objects from sliding while elevating the overall presence of the piece. These tables were originally intended as bedside companions but translate effortlessly today as end tables, accent pieces, or refined storage beside a sofa or chair.
