A charming pair of wrought iron café chairs from France, dating to the early 20th century. Each chair features hand-forged scrollwork across the back and gently curved legs connected by a lower stretcher — classic details of provincial outdoor seating once seen throughout French gardens and cafés.
The lattice seats and sinuous silhouette make these ideal for both indoor or covered patio use. The original black finish has aged beautifully, showing authentic wear and subtle touches of rust that add character and proof of age.
Structurally sound. Expected surface wear, with light rusting and paint loss consistent with outdoor use and age. Each chair is stable and functional.
Each set is sold as a pair. The chairs retain their original painted finish and honest patina — no restorations have been made to preserve their time-earned character. While suitable for daily use, we recommend indoor or covered use to prevent further rusting.

All Maetiques items are considered final sale and sold in, "as-is" condition. Our items are extremely old and have had a prior life, which leads to imperfections. We will always point out major flaws, but due to the nature of our items, returns or exchanges are not accepted.
If you have any questions about the condition or details of a piece, please email us in advance of your purchase as we are always happy to provide more information including detailed pictures and videos. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ask questions prior to purchasing an item. All sales are final.
