An authentic antique French artist’s palette, measuring approximately 16 x 11.5 inches, preserved with its original oil paint intact. Thick, layered pigment in soft blues, greys, greens, and warm earth tones remains frozen across the surface, offering a rare glimpse into a painter’s working process.
This palette was clearly used in a studio setting rather than produced as a decorative object. The natural wear to the wood, paint buildup around the thumb hole, and uneven texture all speak to years of hands-on use.
While not attributed to a documented artist, the palette originates from France and dates to the early–mid 20th century. Pieces like this are increasingly difficult to source in untouched condition, as many have been cleaned, altered, or framed in ways that strip them of their original character.
A beautiful standalone object — ideal for styling on a shelf, leaning on a console, or displayed as sculptural wall art.

All Maetiques items are considered final sale and sold in, "as-is" condition. Our items are extremely old and have had a prior life, which leads to imperfections. We will always point out major flaws, but due to the nature of our items, returns or exchanges are not accepted.
If you have any questions about the condition or details of a piece, please email us in advance of your purchase as we are always happy to provide more information including detailed pictures and videos. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ask questions prior to purchasing an item. All sales are final.
