Eugene Pechaubes (1890 - 1967) was a French painter best known for his depictions of racehorses and almost exclusively painted action scenes of horses celebrated at French racecourses. He was mainly known for landscapes, polo and horse racing, portrait painting and collaborative arts. His art was a part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1932 Summer Olympics.
The set of horse portraits here are extremely well done and in pristine condition. You can see his signature along with each horse's name - Master Bob and Virulent. It is also signed 1920, indicating its age.
The frames have been restored and show a more delicate nature due to the decorative plaster at each end.
